about

In my early twenties I studied studio ceramics at the Falmouth School of Art, and in the late 1990’s went to on to train as an art teacher at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Away from the art world, I pursued a successful career in broadcast media in London, later leaving the city to raise my family in Somerset.

Over the past year I have reunited with my passion for ceramics and finally found the freedom and space to create again and for that I am most grateful.

Working from my studio in the Mendips, my work is inspired by the natural world, in particular the Cornish coast where I grew up and from my local environment.

My methods of working are free in that they are not dictated solely by the inspiration but there is flexibility to be open to how a piece feels at the time. The textures, forms, shapes and colours are interwoven producing endless permutations.
